Hike the mountain forests, play in the woods with friends, discover the animals, fungi and plants mountain, create earth-friendly art to take home and more!

DAYS & TIMES
Monday - Thursday | 8AM - 4PM

2-day sessions, Monday & Tuesday session and Wednesday & Thursday session. Or sign up for both sessions in the same week and come all 4 days! Each day of the week will be a new day of activities and exploration!

$85/day. Generous scholarships available. Wild Bear is a CCCAP (state childcare assistance) provider.

SESSION 1 | JUNE 3RD - JUNE 6TH

FOSSILS, ROCKS, & DINOS

  • Rocks can tell us stories of the animals that lived long ago. Become a paleontologist and discover the dinosaurs and other ancient animals!

SESSION 2 | JUNE 10TH - 13TH

HOWLS & GROWLS

  • Follow the tracks and traces of our local wildlife as you learn about the habits of the animal world. Search for predators and prey, learn how animals protect themselves and create a field guide to take home.

SESSION 3 | JUNE 17TH - 20TH

WOOD FAIRIES & FOREST GNOMES

  • Slap, slap! That’s what the Beaver’s tail does to warn predators to stay away or to communicate with others. Let’s meet the beaver and other animal friends that build their homes in water. Can you build like these animals in the wild?

SESSION 4 | JUNE 24TH - 27TH

AERODYNAMIC ADVENTURES

  • Take flight! Study those who fly: the birds, dragonflies, butterflies, and bats. Replicate their skills and reach the sky with airplanes, kites and windsocks.

SESSION 5 | JULY 1ST-3RD (NO CAMP JULY 4TH)

BIRDS OF PREY

  • Look at the sky, what do you see? An abundance of flying creatures! Meet the raptors up close and discover what makes these birds unique. Dissect an owl pellet, observe real talons, and practice spotting and identifying these amazing creatures outside.

KINDGDOM PLANTAE

  • Discover the world of Botany as the plants bloom in the high country! Investigate the wildflowers, trees, shrubs and other useful plants. Capture these beautiful plants through sketching, painting, and creating.

SESSION 7 | JULY 15TH - 18TH

WATER CREATURES

  • What creatures are trekking through the waterways of the Rocky Mountain? Find the high alpine frogs, snakes, arthropods, and mammals that make their home in or near the mountain water! Create a Water Creature Journal to document these amazing animals.

SESSION 8 | JULY 22ND - 25TH

INSECTOMANIA

  • Discover the amazing world of Hymenoptera! Understand the social insects and the ones that work alone. Learn a bee dance, observe an ant farm, and find out how important bees and pollinators are to our planet!

SESSION 9 | JULY 29TH - AUG 1ST

PREHISTORIC POTTERY

  • Come and get your hands dirty with clay. Listen to the stories of those that lived before, try your hand at primitive skills and create your own artifacts to take home!

SESSION 10 | AUGUST 5TH - 8TH

SWIRLS, CURLS, & SYMMETRY

  • Look closely at the patterns in the natural world…spider webs, beehives, leaf veins, and clouds! Express these beautiful patterns with art projects.
